347 is a type of stabilized Austenitic stainless steel with Niobium and 347H is its high carbon version. 347 can be the version with the addition of Niobium and Tantalum based on the 304 stainless steel. Niobium-tantalum can refine grain, resist intergranular corrosion and promote aging hardening. 347 should be used where requiring intermittent heating between 800ºF (427ºC) and 1650ºF (899ºC) or for welding under conditions which prevent a post-weld anneal.
