However, China's offshore oil and gas industry has been concentrated in shallow water area and mainly S-lay method pipeline technology in the practical operation. With the improvement of the torque capacity of the tensioning device in recent years, the capacity of s-lay pipelining is improving, but the Reel-Lay and J-lay methods are the key direction for deep water area.
